Inktober Day 9: Passiflora lutea
It won't be long now before I turn to fall foliage, fallen leaves, fruits, and other objects for drawing inspiration. The last few plants in flower all seem to have really small flowers, challenging to draw!
But it was fun to see how many Passiflora lutea flowers are still open in the vine that we planted on a trellis adjacent to the apartment next door. The vines have flourished this summer, topping the trellis and climbing on up the cable line along the brick wall.
Here's my drawing of it for Inktober Day 9.

The flowers are small and delicate compared to its fellow Southeastern native, Passiflora incarnata. The vines, in contrast are sturdy, here sharing the trellis with Dioscorea villosa (Wild Yam) at the base.
