Delicious fingerling potatoes
I never imagined posting a piece about potatoes on a blog titled Places of the Spirit, but it really belongs here, rather than on Natural Gardening.
At home in North Carolina, the available potatoes are pretty predictable: Yukon Gold, red potatoes, russet potatoes, and the occasional specialty potato.
Here in Quebec, the potatoes at all times of the year are delicious, it seems, from storage potatoes to fresh. They're different varieties than are grown in the U.S. -- and have been delicious in both winter and summer.
These potatoes, freshly harvested, I guess, were totally delicious. They were from the wonderful agriculturally rich island near Quebec City -- the I'ile d'Orléans.
