A rainy day and musings about daily blogging

A long rainy day hasn’t found me taking any new images, but thinking about how our HomeExchange partner’s house has been “remodeled” over the years.  The footprint of the original 100-year old house is discernible, the attic renovation too, but exactly how and when the back living room and porch were added on — well, that’s unclear as is when the delightful downstairs bathroom and laundry room might have been added (there’s a great soaking tub included...)

The house is charming now and the young couple who live here have updated the place in a lovely fashion, as it’s clearly been recently done.

I’m mindful, too, on a rainy day, of the number of blog posts I’ve made since committing to a daily practice at the end of last August.

I’ve written daily posts for 348 days on this blog since, along with 115 on Natural Gardening over that same time period, so I’ve certainly fulfilled my daily post commitment.  I think I didn’t write on one day, when we had family visiting.

I’ve been posting on Natural Gardening since 2007 — where I’ve amazingly written 2192 posts. That’s a lot of reflections about gardening and nature over the years!  But lots of people keep written nature journals for longer stretches — web posting is a relatively recent alternative to that.

Such fun, really.  I’ve been glad to be able to write and post photos about these sorts of reflections — about nature, the natural world, gardening, and places of the spirit in a format that I can revisit and be reminded of earlier observations, and share, as folks are interested.
