Urban green

Having arrived this morning to overcast skies and intermittent showers (not to mention the overnight flight), I didn’t do anything very ambitious today in Dublin.  I simply got the lay of the land around central Dublin from the lovely Georgian townhome flat space (turned Airbnb) where I’m staying.

The owner lives on the top floor and has two Airbnb units, I think, maybe three.  The groundfloor and basement flats seem to be longer term rentals.  Her brother was finishing up some work upstairs as I was admiring the pocket garden in back from the landing.

A hidden garden

He said there were once over 100 folks living in this building at one time — not sure when that might have been, but eye-opening.  His sister has obviously restored this place with great care — it’s a beautiful place, a complete small apartment, really, within walking distance of all of the downtown sights in Dublin.
