An overflowing French Broad River

With the weather finally clearing, on a beautiful, if breezy and somewhat chilly afternoon, we ventured forth to the Biltmore Estate — a favorite destination for mornings and evenings.

My gardening companion thought we’d be able to park in our “normal” spot just below the slight pedestrian bridge.  Hmm.  That wasn’t happening.  Ha!  It was under water after all of the rain on Friday, as were the fields nearby.

My phone is not cooperating with Photos and updating, so I'm not providing flooding photos -- the flooding was remarkably vast -- covering fields and roads normally travelled.

Here's a favorite Biltmore winter view, instead.

  1. You are indeed lucky to live so close to such a natural place of beauty.

  2. We thought about going to the Biltmore yesterday, but with the cool air and windy weather, we thought it might be too brisk. I am sorry it flooded so badly.

    1. It was a bit brisk, but was beautiful in late afternoon. The river not infrequently breaches the banks as it runs through the Estate, but this level of flooding was remarkable.
