Frost etched the glass railing on the deck this morning, as well as creating sparkles in the forest trees.
The ice crystals traced invisible dust patterns on the glass, their irregular patchwork echoing a crazy-quilt of needlework, perhaps.

Lovely. We'd not seen that sort of pattern before, but the frost was thick this morning on grasses and shrubs, too.

Lake view, with moon (?) reflection |
It was lovely to walk around Beaver Lake, with the inverted water to air temperatures producing mist above the water's surface. The gravel path was still crunchy underfoot -- Woody thought it was a bit strange! It was a good morning to be out; we were surprised that more folks weren't out, but it's the Sunday before Christmas, after all. It was about 27° F -- so not exactly frigid.
