A Solidago needing some clean-up-- part of my review for an upcoming presentaion |
We've had a LOT of rain over the last year and this one, too. The rainfall last year broke all time records (twice as much as "normal"). And with the 12 inches so far in 2019, that's moving along -- 40" inches/year is the average in the Asheville basin, although surrounding areas can get a lot more, especially down towards the Blue Ridge Escarpment, where there are areas that are temperate rain forests, with close to 100" inches a year.

Over 80 inches in 2018, with already 12 inches in January and February. |
I am hopeful the rain slows a little, but I don’t wish for another drought season that fuels fires.
ReplyDeleteThis rain has been truly exceptional -- it'll have to be quite a drought before we have a unusual fire season again! At least I hope so, too.
