Being helpful, hopefully...

The wind blew in late this afternoon, bringing a chilly rain.  Not dressed with my "base" layers, nor wearing anything more than my fleece vest and chamois shirt with a silk scarf,  hmm (not enough!)

It was COLD heading towards downtown with Tim and Woody.  Woody and I soon turned back (Tim was headed to a movie at the Fine Arts Theater downtown).

But, we had a brief delay hearing a fellow in trouble:  he was below the loading dock of the North Star Academy (formerly the Randolph Middle School), around the corner from where we live.  He seemed to be coughing and vomiting at the same time.  He said he was OK, but Tim called 911 anyway, so the police would come and check on him.  He managed to walk on of his own accord after about five minutes, as we were waiting, so hopefully will find a respite somewhere tonight.

Asheville is a compassionate town and there are many places for people to get help and find a place to stay here, whatever their circumstances.

I'm always reminded of our blessings:  we're totally fortunate.  We share as much as we can.
