Spring Is near
Spring is definitely coming.
On my way walking back forth to the Y this morning (to do my weight workout, yuck), there was abundant evidence of leaf buds swelling, flower buds (largely of Asian species) ready to pop, and renewed growth of perennials, too, as well as abundant evidence of daffodils, crocus, forsythia, and cherry.
The giant crocus I saw this morning in a neighbor's landscape was wonderful, along the edge of a fence.
Why I didn’t pull out my phone, I don’t know, but this downloaded image will suffice — from Van Engelen’s website. Crocus tommasinianus.
It's still too early for the bumblebee queens to emerge, but I'm waiting!
