Another beautiful sunset
The wind is howling outside, with gusty episodes. The Friday evening traffic on the nearby highway streams by in both directions. We didn't ski today; the high today didn't get much above 5°F, with strong winds (20-30 mph) -- that's the real challenge for being outdoors in these temperatures. Any exposed skin gets cold rapidly. Really rapidly.
I can see the snow blowing off the drifts outside the windows. They're high. This has been a year with abundant snow so far, according to our friends. Snowier than "normal" -- although not exceptional, they say.
The sunset was yet another spectacular one, as the clouds broke up in late afternoon.
I love the banner that's out in front of the visitor center in the nearby national park.
It says: The best hot chocolate in the world. In three steps. 1. Do an outdoor winter activity in one of the parks. 2. Prepare hot chocolate. 3. Enjoy.
