Coming home

We have two homes.

I don't want to call our cottage in Quebec a second home, as it really isn't that, as we're so glad to be back now for a third wintertime. Spending half the year here, more or less, in pre-pandemic times, and now in the omicron era is magic, indeed.  There's no traffic hardly along the major highway nearby, ahead of the 10 pm curfew, and my grocery store visit, stocking up, was relatively quiet too.

I wrote a piece called "Coming Home" for a digital magazine based in Quebec, as part of a writing workshop sponsored by Heritage Lower St. Lawrence, our regional organization for English speakers.

That's really how I felt, coming home today, to the Northern Appalachians, after a long journey.  It was lovely to return to our special historic cottage.

I am grateful, indeed.
