Little bluestem in morning light

A loop around the UNC-Asheville campus this morning found me admiring little bluestem shimmering in the morning light. This is at the top of the pollinator meadow, adjacent to the delightfully decorative, perhaps mildly functional,  bee hotel.

The North Asheville tailgate market nearby was lovely, too, full of folks on a very mild-temperature holiday weekend.  I just walked through, but was impressed by the long line at OWLbakery’s table — they’re a wonderful West Asheville artisan bakery, so I was glad to see that they were a favorite.

Alas, I’m not a regular customer, as I make all our bread myself, but it’s good bread.  And undoubtedly, delicious pastries, too.
