Veggie transplants ready to go
We have warm temperatures (for this time of year) in the forecast for the next couple of weeks. My collard, kale, and chard veggie transplants have been hardened off now, so they’re ready to go.
I just planted sugar snap peas, in a hopeful nod to getting a brief crop before we head north to Quebec for summer. I’ll be planting more sugar snap peas there, too — the dwarf bush versions are perfect for the short season there.
I’m hopeful of some rain tomorrow, otherwise I’ll need to drag out the hose or watering can to water my raised beds, as they’re looking dry.
I’ll still need to add some extra parsley transplants and perhaps thyme, to replace the early freeze-blasted plants (although maybe a good pruning is all that’s needed), but amazingly, I have cilantro and parsley that’s overwintered from seedlings last fall, too.
How nice is that?
