Back in the Southern Appalachians

It was nice to see the views towards Mt. Pisgah and the Blue Ridge Mountains, as I returned from grocery rounds.

And I was even more delighted to see how my raised bed vegetables had fared.  Yippee, the spinach looked great!

And the kale and emerging parsley and cilantro, they look fine, too.  The Swiss chard is toast as is the French sorrel, too, although maybe the latter will come back.

I’m a happy vegetable gardener this evening.  I’ll be able to add some greens (lettuce, sugar snap peas, etc. to the mix, but to have kale and spinach overwinter without any protection.

Well, I’m glad for that.
