Winterberry and a Christmas tree

This winterberry (Ilex verticillata), seen through our glass storm door, is spectacular this year.  Planted in the landscape of the 100+ yr-old apartment building next to us, it's luminous.

It's loaded with berries this year, but even with early robins, I haven't seen foraging yet (normally it would be late winter).

Our apartment neighbor at the same level as us has put up a Christmas tree.  We've never seen a tree in the apartment before (it's part of a four-plex).  It's a lovely large tree, wrapped with colorful lights.  I know she's enjoying it and we see it from our windows in the living room and upstairs in the bedroom.

Delightful.  My iPhone doesn't focus on the lights, but the photo conveys the spirit of the season.
