Seaside goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens)
This lovely goldenrod is a resident of the intertidal zone here in Quebec and the maritime provinces, as well as coastal areas throughout much of eastern North America. It was unfamiliar to me, but a welcome discovery on yesterday morning's walk in parc national du Bic.
It grows along a distinct tidal line, in a large swath. Here's just a small patch. |
Identifying plants is more challenging with French field guides! |
Interesting to see how a plant adapts to a salt water shore.
