Haying

We're surrounded by farms on the slope behind us.  They're protected by agricultural law here in Quebec.  Most nearby are devoted to pastures for hay or small grains; mostly they're hay fields for dairy cows (along the road up above us). The lower hay fields nearby support a small group of horses  that our neighbor keeps now, instead of dairy cows.

So he continues haying, to support his horses through the winter, and Tim has helped him periodically with putting the bales up in the barn this summer and last.

Our neighbor, Denys, took this picture this morning and sent it to me.

Tim, my gardening companion, is the fellow in the Clemson orange T-shirt, of course.
