A morning surprise
I didn’t expect to see snails on the Sentier du Littoral late this morning.

Back in the U.S., I hardly ever see snails where I live in Western North Carolina. But it had rained early and heavily, so by the time I went out late for my walk, the unexpected occurred.
On one stretch of the gravel walking/biking path, there suddenly were a plethora of vibrant snails, less than a quarter’s diameter in size, but brightly striped or yellow.
Investigating a bit, I found out that they’re “land snails” — well, that’s obvious, I thought, but also ran across this helpful Canadian government guide.
