Darker days

Even here in the Southeastern U.S., we have shorter days in winter.  I'm noticing them as night comes earlier and morning later.

My hopeful plantings of spinach of a month ago or more are looking good;  I need to transplant some to the lower bed which gets more light in winter.  We may not be here to harvest the spinach, heading back to Quebec for a winter sojourn (lots of fluffy snow, bright light, and skiing in our nearby national park). But our multiple HomeExchange partners will enjoy the winter veggies, I'm sure.

I've had fun in previous seasons growing spinach.

The harvest is always welcome.
