Collage art

World collage day was Saturday and a local artist, one of four who have studios based at 310art was doing a drop-in collage activity as part of Second Saturday in RAD (the River Arts District in my mountain city). She’s quite a wonderful artist, who does beautiful work with encaustic, collage, and other media. Bridget Benton is her name.

I was able to choose between a collection of earth-toned paper images of various sorts or a more brightly colored collection. I chose earth-toned and was amazed at the diversity of things that she’d provided. There were papers, images, and print of all sorts — what fun is that?

Here’s what I ended up with.

I was pleased with all three, as I’ve always been drawn to collage, but have not done much of it, aside from “vision boards.”
