Thoughts about traveling
A good friend posted about a conversation that she and her husband had had -- about where they'd like to travel when it's possible again.
Their choices included Ireland, England, Tuscany, Spain, Italy, New Zealand and France, and maybe a couple I'm not remembering at the moment. All such wonderful places to contemplate visiting.
We've been so fortunate to visit many places in the world over many years of traveling at winter break and in summers.
High on my list (aside from returning to Quebec next summer) are returning to Southern Germany, visiting Austria, where my husband will eventually become a dual citizen, in an unexpected twist, and France. I'd like to go back to the Netherlands, too, and Denmark, where we haven't been.
Italy, England, and Ireland, are return destinations, too, along with Scotland, which we haven't visited before.
Our previous destinations in Central America, South America, Asia, Tanzania, and India don't seem as appealing, although Patagonia could bring us back. So wonderful a place.
Shorter flights to Europe, from the East Coast, seem more attractive. Yes, we'd like to go back to New Zealand to the South Island, but the flight is LONG. Hmm.
Listening to Rick Steve's radio podcast today, he had such encouraging words about why travel is so rewarding. These experiences open up our lives to a broader perspective, for sure.
This photo is from a thermal pool in New Zealand's North Island. The name of the park escapes me at the moment. But it was remarkable.
New Zealand was my favorite place to visit. Is that the lake where it is so hot that iy will burn your fingers? We went there.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that this is that one, but it definitely was in Rotorua, in Wai-O-Taupo reserve. There were some amazing pools there: https://naturalgardening.blogspot.com/2018/01/wai-o-tapa-rotorua.html
