Hoar frost on the mudroom windows

The outer door to our mudroom (snow room?) here in Quebec is a venerable blue door with old glass window panes.

In winter, it often has just the right combination of cold and moisture to support the lace-like qualities of hoar frost, which create beautiful patterns on the glass.

Yesterday's version, in quite cold weather, was particularly nice.
