Aquilegia canadensis: an old friend

It's perhaps odd to call Aquilegia canadensis an old friend, but it's really not.  We have it popping up all over our Asheville landscape.  I was delighted to see it again along one of the trails in Parc du Bic, where I'd seen it last year.  It would be nice to have some here in our Le Bic landscape, too.

A couple of photos taken a few weeks ago were the inspiration for my drawing. I started it yesterday and finished today, along with a rose drawing I didn't like as much. 

A whimsical rendition.  But I liked it.  

 

I'm liking the challenge of doing a drawing a day.  It's encouraging!  I love being in my new studio space.
