Winter birds
We've had a lot of fun watching birds visit our feeder this winter. First it was the chickadees. Then the goldfinches and blue jays discovered the seeds. And in the last few weeks, an Evening Grosbeak flock has been avidly collecting black oil sunflower seeds.
They're beautiful birds; it's been fun to watch them out the living room window.
Periodic downy woodpeckers drop by, too. And as Tim put out the last sunflower seeds this morning, a male downy appeared, visiting frequently now in late afternoon.
