Homemade bread

It was so nice to have fresh whole-grain bread, sweetened by honey and maple syrup, with the additions of golden raisins, dried cranberries, and walnuts, to share with friends today.  There were two nice loaves for them and a smaller loaf for us.

It was probably my second to last baking day here in Quebec (and certainly the last with dried fruit and walnuts, as the cupboard is almost bare).

Such a lovely punctuation to our last days here before heading south.  These aren't the loaves I made today, but are similar, as they resemble so many loaves that I've made over the years.

    1. Thanks, Lauren. We hope our return is uneventful! I'm making more bread dough to rest overnight, as it turns out.
