An unusually warm day

Temperatures above freezing had us thinking that a visit to St. Fabien-sur-Mer would be nice.  We both have memories from our first winter here being absolutely freezing there on a winter visit, even when we were both wearing our incredibly warm down jackets.

Today was a different story entirely.  The wind was calm, the temperature was about 35° F, so quite nice.

We walked along the snowy road enjoying the views.

The temperatures will descend to -1°F overnight, as a cold front coming from the west and north brings MUCH colder air. It doesn't seem like we'll get any real amount of snow from this transition, as hoped for.  But, c'est la vie!

  1. Beautiful, Lisa. I guess you’re too close to the mouth of the river and open water to get that crunching sound of ice as it moves back and forth with the tides. It was both fascinating and a little scary when we visited Ile d’Orléans.

    1. We don't normally hear the ice moving, unless we're next to a bay at exactly the right time, when there's a bit of creaking. Eerie to hear.
