Kayaks at a community dock

We're in a community here in Annapolis that labels itself private, but is full of a variety of houses, isn't gated, but does have a beach and walking areas limited to residents and guests, along with a delightful small marina similarly restricted.

Our HomeExchange partners left us a guest tag that we've used in both places.

This was one of the other entry points for kayaks and boaters.

It's fun to be here.  We have another week ahead.

When we were here decades ago, we were busy doing research, and weren't "tourists" or "travelers" at all.  Nor did we have time to do much of that then, aside from excursions to DC on weekends.

So we've been enjoying poking around the historic district of Annapolis and nearby Eastport, taking bicycling-encouraged excursions to the rural areas of southern Anne Arundel County. And we're looking forward to visiting our former research place, the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, and connecting again with our mentor and colleague there.

All nice.

But I will never complain about the traffic in Asheville again!
