It's dry here and cool.

I've been harvesting beans and squash for a couple of weeks now.

I pick them young;  small zucchini and yellow squash are delicious.   I don't want to have beans to freeze or can, just fresh ones. There's wild-foraged sea spinach from the shore, a delicious adventive, added to a Asian eggplant from last Saturday's market, along with peppers, onion, and garlic with tonight's dinner.

We're fortunate, indeed.

I haven't yet taken a photo of my squash and bean patches (with tomatoes to come).

So this photo of vidalia onions, a reminder of many years ago in south Georgia, in the Southeastern U.S., available at a local market here in Rimouski -- well. that will suffice.

  1. OK, so you're making me hungry, and it's not even supper time yet. I know what you mean: I feel fortunate with all the fresh food this time of year, too. I only grow Tomatoes and Onions (not enough sun for much more), but our CSA share supplies plentiful fresh produce. Enjoy!
