Bas St. Laurent
Our regional entity is Bas St. Laurent, described as an administrative region of Quebec in Wikipedia. It's more or less equivalent, as far as I can tell, to a county within a state in the United States. I don't know exactly how they might differ in how they work, but in terms of region seems similar.
We're in the eastern end of Bas St. Laurent (Lower St. Lawrence), near where another region, the Gaspésie begins. Both are beautiful regions and holiday destinations.
Within a 10 minute drive of our cottage here, we have wonderful views of the coast along the St. Lawrence as well as agricultural fields, now full of ripe wheat and corns. Beautiful.
Recent outings this week to Havre du Bic found us soaking in the sunset towards the river and admiring the village of Le Bic (we live on its farthest outskirts across from Parc du Bic).
