A bear family
Our neighborhood bear family visited this last weekend. Mama bear and two cubs, perhaps missing the third cub. Mama bear has two distinctive ear tags, reflecting that she’s being tracked by the NC Wildlife folks.
They proceeded to do normal bear things, but as urban bears, of course investigated the nearby trash cans, fortunately not finding anything.
Much to our amazement, one of the cubs climbed up the old slanted oak below the house and proceeded to lounge in its fork, checking out trumpet creeper vines and a small oak branch.
After a rest, fortunately s/he headed down, feet first. And then they headed towards the front garden, and beyond.
