A winter view (and the dance of travel)
As our time in Quebec this winter is starting to come to a close, I'm juggling fresh vegetables, things in the freezer, and freshly-cooked food. Beef stew (using up an opened box of beef broth) was one goal this evening, as was prepping onions, mushrooms and peppers for stir-fries with salmon or chicken.
We won't be heading south until somewhere around March 7-10th, but the dance of travel begins.
Two loaves of bread came out of the oven today. One and a half loaves are in the freezer. We'll probably be fine until we leave, having bread to bring with us.
I was going to try to make a healthy version of a sheet-buttermilk orange cake from Milk Street's online community, but may not get to that. But, we have a whole bag of oranges to eat before we leave. (The recipe used an orange and a lemon).
The bag of small apples, well, I can always cook and freeze that. A dance indeed.
