Narrative revisions

Additional news reports about the border between Canada and the US reopening in phases starting soon appeared today, suggesting that vaccinated Americans might be able to cross the border as early as June 22.  That's encouraging.

Reading various other sources, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit later, though.  That's basically OK for us, as we have plenty to do to get ready to leave our house here in Asheville and arrange for family or renters (who are also garden-minded) to be here.

I'm continuing to edit narrative of our time in Quebec.  It's nice to do.  Interesting to revisit editing hard-copy prose again.

  1. J want to go see his parents ASAP. He has had no luck calling the Canadian consulate. He hopes to travel there (to the consulate) this week to see if he can go without having to stay 14 days in some sort of quarantine. I hope you can get to your second home soon.

    1. Well, our neighbor's son is prepared to do the quarantine, even as a dual citizen. But I'm hopeful that things will open up in late June/early July for vaccinated Americans.

I'm not sure that contacting the Canadian consulate or visiting there will be helpful, honestly. We just need to wait until the overall regulations are phased in . If his parents were in hospice, etc. that would be a reason for a crossing under current rules.

But I do expect a phased opening announced bu June 21.
