A watercolor depiction of a favorite place

Getting together with good friends to do watercolor is always fun (and I always appreciate the encouragement to do some art! Yesterday's gathering was a rainy day, so not conducive to outdoor painting, so we were looking for subjects in our photo galleries.

Flowers are always good subjects, but I thought I'd stretch a bit with my new watercolor field set and try a landscape scene.  I clearly need a LOT more practice with watercolor techniques, but I had fun playing with the pan paints, instead of watercolor pencils or pens.

I finished this up in my garden studio space (formerly a garden shed), getting rather chilly in the process, but at least the black flies weren't active!
