Such wonderful views in Salzburg

 We followed Rick Steve’s walking tour of the Altstadt (wonderful) about halfway and found ourselves up at the Hohensalzburg Fortress, having missed our way to St. Peter’s Kirche. It brought us to wonderful viewscapes of the city.

It was lunchtime, so we delayed our visit to the Fortress, and had lunch at a museum cafe, intending to visit the museum afterwards.

But with the short days, we decide to visit Maria Plaine, up above our HomeEchange place, taking the bus to the stop nearby to walk the 30 minutes up to the church and guesthouse there.  Our HomeExchange had recommended an excursion there.  I’m glad she did.

We found amazing views of the mountains around Salzburg, as well as towards the city. Wonderful!
