Late afternoon winter sunset

The days are getting longer;  the sun is setting this afternoon around quarter to five.  The sky is still brilliant, but the sun has dipped below the horizon.

The colors of the sky from the living room windows are deepening, as I sit here at the old farmhouse table in the living room. It's always a magical spot to be;  it's illuminated at all times of the day, but winter sunsets are special.
