Snow all day

It's been snowing all day, magical fluffy snow piling up on tree branches and fences.  About 3 - 4 inches of snow - we're glad we made it yesterday evening!

Tim was able to to get our winter tires for the Ioniq 5 at the Hyundai dealer in Rimouski this morning, ahead of our appointment next week.  I was glad of that as I ventured out to the village market in Bic this afternoon as it continued to snow. The Ioniq was fine in the snow.

There's another big snow storm expected in the middle of next week, but now there's plenty enough to make the landscape a winter scene, the white bark of the birches shining in the grey light.  We've often arrived just ahead of a storm, usually by plan, sometimes by accident.  I didn't actually expect this much snow today, looking at the forecasts.

But great to be in our cottage with the wood stove humming and snowy views outside!

The view from upstairs this afternoon as the snow continued to fall - such a gift.  The former antique shed is to the far left, my now studio in yellow (a former garden shed), with a functioning garden shed to the right, and the former small animal barn/chicken coop at far right is yet another functional and welcoming work space for landscape projects.

We've been fortunate to have wonderful help renovating and stabilizing the outbuildings, as well as helping with major landscape projects.  He's a local returned home after many years abroad, mainly in Hawaii, where he was a landscape gardener in large private gardens.  We've seen that imprint on our landscape, including an exceptional talent for rock work, as well as extensive knowledge of working with wooden sheds, improving drainage, etc. from his time living in Quebec with a wood-oriented family (timbering, fence-building, etc.)  We found him through wanting our traditional fences stabilized, but have benefited from so much more!
