Biltmore Estate

One side benefit of being in Asheville this summer has been multiple visits to the Biltmore Estate.  Yes, it's a money-making enterprise, but it's still an Asheville treasure.

And the walled garden didn't disappoint this morning.  It's not really my kind of gardening, but spectacular, nevertheless.  And creative, that's for sure.

The Italian garden with its water lilies and lotus didn't disappoint, either.  I'm glad to be a passholder.

  1. I have fond memories of visiting Biltmore over the years. First time was when I was 12 or so, most recently when I was in my 60s. I disliked the walled garden when I was young and found it more interesting when I was older... but like you, it isn't my thing. Hope you are well, Lisa.

    1. It's amazing how the horticulture has improved at Biltmore Estate -- the folks managing the walled garden are a LOT more creative than they used to be. I enjoyed it particularly in the last few years; this year is a bit over the top (way overly tropical in my opinion), but still spectacular.

Thankfully, we're both fine, enjoying Asheville, but still missing Quebec!
