Getting ready to return to Quebec

This spring has been beautiful in North Carolina, although too dry.  I used a photo of a flame azalea in our front garden here to "like" a friend's comment on a Messenger post.  She asked about it, was it a Rhododendron?  And of course, it is.

I had posted about it on Natural Gardening (https://naturalgardening.blogspot.com/2026/04/a-flame-azalea-in-full-flower.html) several weeks ago, reinvigorating some directly garden-related posts ahead of The Fling in Buffalo, NY (formerly the Garden Bloggers Fling).

But I was also reminding myself of how beautiful it is in Quebec, working with a watercolor week online series.

For my final painting, I diverted from the instructor's formula flower arrangement, and selected a photo of tulips in front of a traditional wooden fence, from our arrival a year ago.

I was pleased with the outcome.  I already posted the image directly on FB, but thought I'd mark it here, too. Fortunately, the darker image in the preview post looks normal in the posted version.
