A tree peony in flower
I've continued to marvel at the peonies as we've lived in this place. I'd never grown peonies, but we inherited multiple herbaceous peonies from the previous gardeners, along with a spectacular tree peony.
It had been crowded out at the time we bought the house and garden seven years ago, but has rebounded nicely, with added attention and compost.
It's loaded with flowers this year; they're impressively large and fragrant. Small flower flies are visiting; I didn't notice whether they were collecting pollen or nectar or simply dropping by!
Impressive.
That is a beautiful Peony variety. They are a special part of early summer. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth - it's truly spectacular.
