Spring is here

I've been enjoying spring unfolding, but haven't posted recently, with a sideways detour for a week of illness, along with other distractions.  Fully recovered, now!

Today's flowering shrubs include a recently transplanted flame azalea.

And a wonderful early-flowering Rhododendron.

And a Firepink, Silene virginica, illuminated a recent walk in the NC Arboretum.

Our garden is vibrant with spring wildflowers, emerging native Magnolias, red, yellow and painted buckeyes, and much more.  So nice to have this native plant garden surround us here.

  1. We have been so dry, I get 'memory' pictures on FB and so many of the blooms haven't shown up yet this year. Your Flame azalea looks like it survived the move well. I had to move some this spring so the tree that Hurricane Helene upended could be removed. More rain would help them settle back in.

    1. We moved this one because of an opening from a scarlet oak that fell because of Helene. Hopefully it will flourish, along with yours.

    2. Helene really left her mark, didn't see?

    1. I had another mild bout of Covid - totally unexpected! But I’m fine now.
