Sea spinach

It's not really spinach, being Atriplex hortensis but it's a wild adventive common along local beaches in the sea wrack. I've written about it before: https://placesofthespirit.blogspot.com/2019/08/foraged-sea-spinach-on-coast-of-st.html

It's delicious, even though a bit salty.  I like to combine it with fresh local spinach or greens from the garden, cooking it with onions, red peppers, and garlic.

Harvesting it is easy as it's abundant along the shore at St. Fabien-sur-Mer.  And happily, older leaves are just as good as smaller ones.

Delicious!
